Waking up, getting dressed, where do we go now?
Today I had one of the most amazing days in my life as an Italian Cyclist. Finally I got part of the Biking Club #Florencebybike after one month of intense training with my friend Giusseppe, I went to do my debut.
When I bike I trust the signs, of course I get nervous but every ride I think that is like a new adventure, a new life opportunity to discover and to experience the Italian life; to see those landscapes one more time and to feel the satisfaction of a new ride. And the feeling of arriving home is almost like winning the world championship; the sense of accomplishment is amazing.
I arrived to the Cascine Park at 9.15 as it was set; without expecting it there was my friend Giuseppe who was waving at me, I could feel his good vibe making me feel so special and professional for getting a new "biking outfit"; we were laughing making jokes and he was wishing me the best luck for today`s ride. That was the sign I was looking for.
The outfit is another story but is true the clothes are so important in this sport they completely make the difference of feeling "comfortable" to "aerodynamic" and "light"; protected towards the rain the wind and just ready to fly.
So off we went, we did a short but hilly ride. We started at Ponte alla Vittoria then we headed to Torredi Bellosguardo and Galluzzo where the roads were super narrow and the hills where sharp; my heart was literally stopping I couldn`t breathe anymore I was just pushing and my legs were burning. When the hill finished all of them were on the top cheering at me, 20% of inclination they said is very hard; OMG I was shaking. This is called "Wall" Lorenzo said when climbs are this deep is like fighting against a wall pushing with all your strength towards a imaginary force that is pushing you back. The feeling of arriving to the end was amazing.
Then we kept on pedaling towards San Felice to Ema, here we went a bit more downhill and then the last climb to arrive Poggio Imperiale and Pian dei Giullari. I was super happy because it was the first time that after a year of cycling in Italy I managed to followed the team. This men honestly had thought me so much about the core values of life; solidarity, discipline, passion, dedication, friendship and team work.
Thanks to this people I had the most amazing adventures of my life, they had been patient to me and they had pushed me to improve and do my best. To know some parts of me that even me I wasn't aware I had and that always effort has its price today I felt full-filled all of my rides and my morning trainings finally where seen by them that are professionals.
